Any drafts bearing dates after the declaration of

War will be dealt with specially and referred to the Colonia

Secretary.

GOLD LEAF AND BAR SILTER "The Bank" hold Canton

Taels 500 weight of gold leaf which will remain in the

Treasury of "The Bank". "The Bank" also hold 240 bars of

silver, which is now in "the Bank' a" Treasury. Of these

bara some are held on account of the Bank", Caloutta

Branch and see retained here owing to inability to ship.

Other bars are held in safe custody on account of "the Bank's

Canton Branch who have sold game to Chinese under an old

contract, but is it possible that delivery of part or all

may be taken in Hongkong against cash payment. A shipment

of bar silver sold by "the Bank's" Canton Branch was landed

at Tokohama where it is stored and "the Bank" may want par-

mission to take over the bars held here on account of their

daloutta Office and set them against the contract made with

Chinese in Canton above stated leaving the bars in Tokohama

to be held there on account of their Calcutta office.

LETTERS AND TELEGRAMS It is proposed to allow the

Bank to deal with all letters coming in and going out. As

to this we shall be glad to have instructions. To under-

stand that no telegrama are accepted from or delivered to

*the Bank" or their Staff, Please confirm this.

GENERAL All vouchers for all transactions will
